Frequently Asked Questions

We get it, you still have more questions! Your wedding is a big deal, let’s make sure we are on the same page. If you have additional questions reach out to us at anytime!

How many guest can you accommodate?

The barn will accommodate up to 350 guests seated for a reception. If you have a larger guest we can overflow to the loft in the barn. We also have two outdoor patios that are covered and one that is not for additional space.

What is your rental fee and what does it include?

Pricing and details can be found here. Rentals include access to the barn and surrounding areas and tables and chairs for 350 people.

What dates do you have available?

Available dates can be found here. We keep our calendar pretty up to date!

How do we reserve our date?

To reserve your date, first please fill out our form at the bottom of the page.

$1000 non-refundable reservation fee to hold your date due at time of signing. Nine (9) months before your event half (1/2) your rental fee will be due. These deposits will be applied to your rental fee and are non-refundable. Remaining balance must be paid thirty (30) days before wedding day.

Do we need to schedule or can we just stop by?

Tours are by appointment only. If you would like to set up a tour you can schedule one here!

Where can I have my wedding ceremony?

A few locations to hold your ceremony include:

  • Our large North Patio featuring a retaining wall that includes a flat/dry concrete base directly attached to The Grange Hall overlooking our 1/2 pond and fountain. Some couples also enjoy turning the ceremony around and facing the large black door on the end of The Grange Hall.
  • On the backside of the barn we have planted a 40ft “runway” of short grass that is roughly 300ft long. Each side of the short grass is surrounded with switchgrass on each side that is 4-5 ft tall. This should create a secluded effect blocking out any other distractions for the ceremony. At the back of the runway there is a 3 acre wildflower patch that serves as a perfect backdrop and picture spot for after the ceremony.
  • Our rear lawn landscape area. If you’re looking for a more secluded spot away from any distractions our rear lawn is the perfect spot since it is blocked and shaded by The Grange Hall. This spot is only suitable for smaller weddings.

What do we do if the weather is unfavorable for an outdoor wedding?

Because we rent you the whole property for the weekend we are able to set up the wedding to be indoors if needed. It may not be ideal, but we have held multiple wedding ceremonies indoors and they have been just as successful as the outdoor ceremonies, sometimes even better!

Are there hotels nearby?

We are located just north of Richwood, Ohio. The closest hotels are roughly 15-20 minutes away both in Marion and Marysville, Ohio. Both hotels in Marysville are committed to booking rooms for Grange Hall weddings and do have transportation options available!

Do you have any catering requirements?

You are welcome to use whichever licensed and insured food caterer you like. The Union County Health Department requires we use only licensed and insured caterers. Proof of licensure is required 30 days prior to your wedding date.

Can we supply our own food?

We do not allow self-catering. All food must be prepared in advance in a licensed kitchen.

What are your requirements for alcohol and the bar?

We do allow alcohol in accordance with state and local laws. You are welcome to bring in your own alcohol – we do not have a liquor license so no cash bar is permitted, it must be an open bar. Additionally, all alcohol served to guests must be served by a licensed and insured bartender – no self service bar is allowed. We can help you find bartenders for your event.

Will there be staff on site during my event?

Yes, there will be at least one team member present on site throughout the day and into the evening to help ensure you and your guests have a safe and enjoyable time on the property. Staff are present to address questions, tidy restroom facilities, ensure vendors follow property guidelines and monitor guest safety throughout the event. Please note, we are not wedding planners or coordinators.

Are candles permitted?

Candles are not permitted due to fire and safety concerns. Battery powered candles of course are fine.

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking is not allowed in the barn, this includes vaping/e-cigarettes. Smoking is permitted 50 ft from the outside of the barn and all smoking waste/litter must be properly disposed of in designated receptacles.

What are the guidelines for cleanup?

Clients and/or their caterers are responsible for clearing and undressing all tables. This includes collecting and bagging all trash and service items such as cups, bottles, napkins, etc. All the items brought in by the client, including service items and decorations must be either bagged for disposal or loaded and removed at the conclusion of your event. Very simply, you don’t have to clean. Just responsible for taking whatever you brought into the barn back out of the barn.

We plan to have our ceremony offsite, Does your fee change?

No, our pricing structure stays the same whether or not you hold ceremony, reception or both onsite.

Do you allow dogs onsite to play a part in our wedding day?

Yes – with some exceptions. All dogs must be pre-approved with Cody or Alexis and are only allowed to be onsite for the ceremony and photos. Dogs must stay on a leash and have someone responsible for them other than the bride or groom.

Can vehicles be left overnight?

Yes! We want everyone to stay safe. All cars must be removed from the property by 10am the following day.

Are sparklers, fireworks, or sky lanterns permitted?

Sparklers are fine outside the barn. Please no sky lanterns or fireworks out of respect for our neighbors.

Can we add additional decorations to the barn?

Yes, we love to see how each couple transforms the barn to fit their own unique style. However, any decor that needs to be hung or attached to the barn must be approved by our staff.

Is the barn air-conditioned?

Our barn is heated but not currently air-conditioned. Due to the number of large glass doors it will be difficult to size the air conditioning large enough to cool the space. Our bride room and restrooms are air conditioned. Our main area also features two very large ceiling fans. By opening doors on both sides of the barn and turning the fans on we can create a very nice breeze even during the very warm Ohio summer days!

Are tables and chairs included with the rental?

We have 44 round 60 inch tables and 8 rectangle 96 inch long tables. These along with 350 white folding chairs come with each rental. You can easily sit 8 persons at each table.

What about table linens and napkins?

We have the ability to rent linens and napkins if your caterer does not provide them. Our linens are dropped off and picked up after your wedding. They are 120 inch linens that go to the floor and can be rented for $15 per linen and $1 per napkin.

Where can I purchase my special event insurance policy?

A special event insurance policy is required for wedding ceremony/receptions at The Grange Hall for coverage of $1,000,000. The policy should list our businesses and names as additional insured. Please list Anywhere With You LLC, Big Pitcher Holdings LLC and Cody & Alexis Johnston on the policy.
