On the week where we had planned to finish the interior of the barn, we unfortunately did not 🙁 Our amish building crew took advantage of the beautiful weather last week to get their crops in the ground. No worries though as they will return on Tuesday and should finish wrapping the metal out by Wednesday or Thursday. This is a must do as we have our first two bridal showers this upcoming weekend!
It was a week of small wins though here at the farm. With the barn being cleared of construction we were finally able to finish out the rough plumbing for the bathrooms. The lines were all pressure tested on Friday and we are cleared to drywall on Tuesday morning. At the end of the week A+ Landscaping rolled in and got our grass seed planted for our first phase of landscaping. We had to build up more dirt around the new concrete we put in Tuesday and then the soil had to be “rockhounded” to remove all the stones from the ground. We finally got it planted on Saturday and somehow were fortunate enough to dodge the nasty storms it appears most surrounding areas got on Saturday night. A couple more decent rains and we’ll hopefully be mowing!
The highlight of the week was on Tuesday though when we poured our last round of concrete. Craig Moran Construction showed up around 6am to finish framing our north patio and soon after Ohio Ready Mix and Pumpco Concrete Pumping were on scene to help get the concrete where it needed to go. The new patio gives us ample space for ceremonies if the need ever arises due to a wet forecast or water laying elsewhere.
Sunday was a nice cool down for the week. Cody got the water lines hooked up to the new hanging baskets for the porch and picked up the tile that will be installed on the bathroom walls in the next couple weeks. We’ve also started feeding our fish for the year, they are fun to watch and should be something the kids can do while at a wedding or party here at the farm.
